If you’re heavily invested in the Windows ecosystem and frequently use Edge on your PC, using Microsoft’s browser on a Chromebook can make your life a lot easier. You might think you can only use Google Chrome if you have a Chromebook, but thanks to its ability to run Linux apps, you can also use Microsoft Edge.
It also means that, strangely enough, you can now install and use Microsoft Edge on your Google Chromebook. But with Linux comes Chrome OS, thanks to its built-in container for running Linux apps directly on a Chromebook. Now that Microsoft has finally released Edge for Linux, albeit only as a preview, the three main traditional desktop platforms are covered. Neither installing via terminal nor using the installer brought success on Lenovo Chromebook Duet as errors were issued for unmet dependencies. It’s not entirely surprising, but the current version of the Dev Channel doesn’t seem to work on ARM-based Chromebooks.
